About Affouet

Affouet Price is a Portland-based entrepreneur and the founder of Hibisbloom, a company dedicated to sharing traditional West African hibiscus beverages with a global audience. Her passion for food and drink culture began in her native Ivory Coast, where she learned to prepare traditional recipes from her mother and grandmother. ​

In 2016, Affouet launched "La Casserole Gourmet," a social media presence aimed at promoting West African cuisine.Her original recipes quickly gained popularity, leading her to debut a full menu for the home-chef network Josephine Cooks in 2017, which often sold out due to high demand. ​

Building on this success, Affouet founded Hibisbloom in June 2019, with the mission to introduce the traditional hibiscus flower tea, known as Bissap, to a wider audience. The company offers naturally sweetened, gluten-free, plant-based hibiscus beverages that are both delicious and versatile. Hibisbloom's products come in flavors like Cascade Vanilla, Savannah Cinnamon, and Cavally Mint, and can be enjoyed on their own or incorporated into mixed drinks, such as cocktails and sangrias. ​

Affouet's dedication to quality and cultural authenticity has led to Hibisbloom's presence in various markets, allowing more people to experience the rich flavors of West African hibiscus tea.​
